When I had verizon dsl, it would stay connected for weeks on end.
Now I switched to cable and the connection is constantly timing out. Id say its the cable but NO ONE else I know with this cable service is having trouble. And odd thing ive noticed is when it happens I cant access my linksys router through IE during these "blackouts". I can still connect to other comps on my network and xfer files, but I cant access the router. And once IE lets me connect to it, the net connection is back on. Any ideas if it really is the router?
A lil while ago before I switched, I updated the firmware and it went bad somehow in the middle. The upgrade prog timed out and I couldnt access it at all. Ran the setup cd off one of the pcs and it fixed it and let me back in. I havent noticed anything else odd.
Most progs like aim dont even detect the connection loss if you were using it, like just having it connected. Hence at the end of the day itll say i was connected for 20 hours, yet I know ive lost connection numerous times.
