Dunno if anyone have any experience with this but I'm trying to get my PC and PS2 connected. The cable that came with the network adapter didn't seem to work so I used an old one I had lying around. My PC says there's is "Limited or no connectivity" and I can ping the ip it gives me (169.254.59.20 which is far from the standard ip I think). But my PS2 can't find my PC.
IPS2->cable->builtin-NIC

Any ideas ?

If you have the two devices hooked up via a crossover cable, then you would also need to manually assign IP addresses to both of them too.

If you have them plugged into a router/switch that has a builtin DHCP server, then the device with the 169.254.59.20 isn't getting an IP address from the DHCP server.

Well I realised it wasn't a crossover cable
Gonna try with one tomorrow.
Don't have a router/switch
