This question has come up before here and elsewhere, I don't think it can be done without using capturing software and recompressing. You know the second a stream ripping solution comes out, they'll update their player to prevent it.
Linux has a rtdp? stream capturing, the problem is is that the stream is encrypted. you would most likely have to interface in memory at the last step before display to capture.
for the lazy just use a hauppauge HD pvr.
