So out of nowhere yesterday, my router just stops working. All the lights are on as usual, blinking away, but none of the 3 (2 hardwired, 1 wireless) have access to either the internet or the router itself. The only "fix" is that if I power cycle the motherfucker, it'll kick back in.

So it's getting more and more frequent. It's totally random, but two of these incidents happened within 10 minutes of each other just a little while ago.

Only things that changed since it started were that I got my ftp set up again. However, it's been set up many times in the past with no problems. FTP is working just fine (at least, when the router is)

It's a linksys wireless N router. only ~1.5yrs old.

Just occurred to me: firmware update?

there is also a command to flush the ram
you might not even need updating, just sometimes you have to reload the ios from flash and flush the ram cache.
if its cisco IOS or similiar
log into it with putty and bash around the prompt

I would update the system image with a new bin file from the website
or in the web interface, reset to factory settings
some of these commands may apply at the terminal prompt if you use putty or telnet, since linksys is now a cisco product
