What were people favorite PlayStation One games?
So far I've tried Havest Moon, Parappa Rappa, and Castlevania: Symphony of Night. All three piss me off.

Vib-Ribbon is pretty cool. Its a rythm game, that lets you pop in your own CD's. The simplicity of it, makes it hilarious. I'm using the pSX emu. Simple simple simple to use. http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/ And a DualShock2 controller with a SmartJoy adapter. ps. Power Shovel looks amazing!

Sweet there is two sequels released in Japan for the PS2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vib-RibbonThe game spawned two sequels: Mojib-Ribbon, which focused around rap music and calligraphy, and Vib-Ripple, which was similar to Vib-Ribbon but instead used digital images loaded into the game to generate the levels. Both were released exclusively in Japan for the PlayStation 2. Currently I'm playing Klonoa : Door to the Phantomile. Overly cute 3D side scroller.

For a long time I just had that demo disk with the 1 level of Tony Hawk on it. We'd just take turns doing point runs. Seems like with 3 or 4 of us, we'd end up playing all night.

Lol, or games like Mega Man where you had to play perfect, because one screw up and you have to start the level over.

Never understood Megaman its pure absurdity of hardness, and not in a good way. Feels like cheap shots forever.
I miss playing Road Rash, but I figure its not as fun as I remember.

I dunno man. I remember games whered you have to explore like final fantasy. you were perfectly capable of going into zones 20 lvls too early and getting your ass waxed hard. then scamming to try and kill 1 or 2 to lvl. now its a straight line and you lvl up at predetermined spots... Well, I haven't played any games in the last five years and the newest game I've played is probably UT2004. Gaming was just more enjoyable back then. I guess that now that I'm older it's lost its feeling. The late 80's and early to mid 90's were a great time for PC gaming. I dabbled with the PS1.

The original Megaman (1) was awfully unforgiving, the only way I'd recommend it to someone is running it in an emulator using save states. It used to be I'd rent a game for three days and simply try and beat it during that time (junior high life was so simple . so it was very frustrating with a game like Megaman. I do think good new games can be found today. I personally have to look a lot harder to find them. Mass Effect 2 wasn't a bad game, I still play UT 3 and I know I'll buy the next version whenever it comes out. Red Dead Redemption I haven't played, but I think I'll probably like it.

Red Dead Redemption I haven't played, but I think I'll probably like it. Not to derail the thread, but that game is F*ING AMAZING. I haven't been able to stop playing it for about 2 weeks now. It's been quite a long time since a game has engrossed me like this. Funny thing is, it has a lot of elements from GTA, and I usually get bored with GTA (well, doing the missions) after a few hours of game play. But RDR has kept me going. Not to mention, if you have even a casual interest in old westerns, the scenery, cinematography, themes and encounters are excellent. I highly recommend it.
