So my main system is having issues. My netbook. Its always plugged in, but finally, I tripped on the cables and sent it flying across the room. The only damage is the power connector soldered on to the mainboard. I was hoping it was just loose. Today I took it apart, and its the little wang in the power connector that is damaged. Now its a hunt for the same connector, or I'll have to fashion a new. There is no part number for it since it is now field replaceable unless I replace the entire mainboard which costs more than a refurb netbook of the same model. The netbook is out of warranty eons ago. Just thought I'd pout publicly. I know how much you'll miss me with all the eye popping nonsense I post.

hold up. look, there has to be some parks near you right?
so one sunny day take a walk in the park and look at those who are roller blading and estimate their foot size keeping in mind their body mass. in other words just focus on the young and those that look weaker than you. and there you have it, a used set of roller blades. also wear a cheap pair of sneakers so when you take their blades they can at least walk home sulking without hurting their feet. that'll also play in your favor if you should get caught by the cops and ask the judge for a break since you were considerate. rofl

or just do a smash and grab one night at a store.

Thanks for the ideas. But we're talking skates not blades. Anyone around here wearing skates can and will beat the living shit out of me. I also probably work with them in some compacity.

I'm going for now just wire up an adapter.

wear a hoodie or a mask. there's a inner gratification knowing the co-worker you just robbed and are talking to doesn't have a clue you're the one who gave him the lump on the back of his head. remember, approach from behind, less chance of them flipping the script on you and taking your sneakers. rofl rofl

While you're at it, remember what put you in this predicament. You need to find some netbook-carrying douchebag. Airports are loaded with them. Walk up to him and ask him what time it is, then swipe the netbook from his paws.

He will definitely let you know that this is not OK, just scream at him "TERRORIST", that it's a bomb and that you're trying to save everyone from certain death.

Make sure you are grabbing an adequate netbook and not something with Hello Kitty all over it... although you might be into that.

I'd be on the floor whithering from ejaculation just seeing a Hello Kitty netbook in person.

Speaking of airports I am actually going up to Pearson Airport (Terminal 3) to go for supper with my dad (RobertQ driver) around 9pm....

I have learned you can make killing selling single cigarettes there. Espcially when a flight get grounded. $5 for a smoke? Fuck yeah!

Are roller-skates back in? No more roller-blades. I'm not a fan of either. I'm prone to do dangerous shit when I'm on wheels.

when my family went to drop relatives off at the airport i would always find the lose carts and put them back and get $1 for each cart from the machine... one time i made $23 smile

Now they're making money off their carts, you put in $2 and only get back $0.25... whats the point really...

I've been volunteering with various Roller Derby leagues in Toronto. I would say a couple years ago it was mostly popular with people that played or friends of and family. Then the Drew Barrymore directed movie Whip It came out in theaters. Drew and crew and the Toronto Roller Derby Girls put on a demo downtown. Every game since has been sell outs (400 ppl+). Roller Derby is an international sport. Pretty much any city has a League, smaller cities might have a couple teams that travel city to city playing. I've watched a few American bouts on YouTube where entire stadiums are packed with people. As for general mass popularity, no. But at least every other person I've talked to at least has heard of the Roller Derby. Skates usually have to be special ordered, cause they are hand made.

I've been asked to learn to Ref, which is basically the only position a male get in it. Unless you do Announcer, A/V tech, etc, or volunteer.

Hitting up good old trusty Active Surplus tomorrow. The power plug is some freak of low profile (5mm?). I can SEE what is wrong. But its so microscopic piss inducing to fix, I'm better off rummaging through bins of billions of parts to find something. Oh .. and I need a braid or solder sucker.

roller derby was big when I was a kid, my uncle used to take me to west philly to the arena and watch the philadelphia roller derby team play other cities. as a kid it was cool, now it's silly. same for wrestling, my uncle used to take me to the same arena and back then it was chief jay strongbow, the sheik, Captain Lou Albano, andre the giant, the funk brothers, Fred Blassie, and the Rock's father, and professor tanaka.

even though that was fake too it was good cause it wasn't expensive, and I got everyones autograph.

I would have gotten into roller derby back in the day, it just never was on TV much in my area. I don't think there were many derbys in the local venues.

Wrestling was different though, I remember it briefly before the whole "Hulkamania" thing caught on, it was very different after. Andre the Giant was amazing to see in person. I remember as a kid standing up on the edge of my seat and flipping off then-bad guy Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, he made eye contact right with me and motioned for me to get in the ring, lol.

Now it's all about Ultimate Fighting. A guy I work with holds the belt for the region, he's very polite and pleasant... you'd never know what he did on the side if people didn't show you the videos.

I liked Bruno Samartino. He was a great wrestler and fun to watch before everything changed, I liked him when he did commentary too. He made some interesting comments in an interview after leaving the WWF, where he commented that Vince McMahon was a "basketcase" turned it into a "circus" and ruined the industry.

In the WWF's prime I remember watching Wendi Richter's boobage falling out during live television and her quickly adjusting it. How I was hoping everything would come off.

I do vaguely remember watching GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling) and just hoping they'd all get nekkid in some massive erotic Poo-say Royale.

If it always stays plugged in, put a permenant wire soldered to the mobo and put a generic female connector dangling a few inches from the laptop (or make a magnetic breakaway) -- then wire that shiz up. It's already ganked for that connector so make a new one.

LOL.

As fast as its up, it goes down for the count. Mysterious Acer AOA150 bugs. First it appeared dead as a door knob. Then it came back after a night of being unplugged, and battery removed. Next up the dreaded blank screen. The bios is easily corrupted. So off I go doing the blind recovery process. Then GRUB2 took a hissy fit cause the bios version was different. Grub2 is royal pain to edit / repair.

End of the day I have 3 OS's, Ubuntu 9.10, Slitaz-ng, and Win7 Home Premi, installed.

Now back to cracking.
