Anyone ever have any success doing this when making the bootable USB Key under linux, from an ISO image.
I've tried various tools that are still in the works to make this happen easy.
I've done the long argious methods with some semi success (syslinux launches, but fails eventually)
Seems the partial method was the more complicated one.
By following the 'long method' on this site
http://learn.clemsonlinux.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Install_from_USB_drive
Then moving the files to root partion
dd if=/dev/sdc1 of=tempfile
dd of=/dev/sdc if=tempfile
Didn't help that I was using mythBuntu instead of a regular Ubuntu iso.
You'd think there would be a stoopid proof method by now.
Just want to do Slax (usb img version is a total fail for me too), for this computer. Then mythBuntu for the new system.
This is more about peoples success at doing it, and what rules they followed to do it.
