Where have you been? Old news. Gearbox took over and it's finally going to get completed. A 2011 release.

Well, you do want them to finish the game. Not sure what engine was being used when 3DRealms last worked on it, but changing or updating the engine could further the release date. Let them get this one out and then release a new one with current or future design.

Duke Nuken 3D was great. Almost as significant as when Doom came out. Plus, it was fun to play online. I wasted thousands of hours playing. Then of course UT came along. Quake was nice, but UT was the game to play.

Is the original worth playing today? I believe they open sourced the code, so there should be many improved versions kicking around. I was a heavy user of the game, the build editor was amazing. Spent most of my time making maps. Got a couple my maps included on some map cd's that were sold in stores. :P Back in the day, you could kick ass on minimum spec req's, 486-66. Well, at least this delay is only around a month. Ten years was a little too long before.
