I have never read of any CPUs or MBs dieing from using "unlocker". Motherboard manufacturers wouldn't include it if those type of problems would occur. You can have stability problems or not all cores will unlock. Stability tests should be done after unlock process to see if everything is fine.

I would have at least bought a board that had the ability. You don't need to use it.

I might build another AMD system soon. I can do it for $100-$200 less than equivelent Intel system.

Im indifferent really to Intel AMD wars. First pc I built was AMD, and 2nd. This one was intel cuz dual core wasnt AMD avail and price was better.
I really go for whatever gives me the best bang for buck before diminishing returns.
