Hey Digital, one of the boys was playing today. I may of confused him a bit because I was trying to figure out who was on but he sorted it out. The web interface now has chat built in that does not require login so you can chat directory to the boys while you are at work or wherever.

yeah my wife just told me they were on it today. she is the one who answered you i think. she said the boys were arguing amongst themselves as to what to tell you..LOL

lol... I HAD a nice house until a griefer came in.

Anyway, I had to setup whitelisting security. You'll have to contact me specifically for an account now and because hackers can spoof other player names I had to turn on the thing that verifies a users ID with the minecraft.net servers

Okay I changed up a few things. I added staggering backups of the world every 6 hours in case something happens again.

I started a whitelist so only validated users are allowed in.

I am still going to allow non minecraft.net registered users in for now as long as they are on the whitelist. We'll see if the whitelisting works.

Friends of mine are running a dedicated server, somewhat less legit - and we call connect using a hamachi zeroconfig vpn. it's awesome, freeware, and best of all not visible to the external interwebs.

Okay so had some time to work on the server this weekend.

- Opened it up so anyone can join (turned off whitelisting)
- added antihack modules
- added permissions modules (users can only build or break blocks if they are part of the list)
- Added ichat modules for colour in chat for users
- added a dynamic map of the world
- Combined both web addresses for the web interface and game server into one address secondwife.servegame.com
- Setup hourly backups on 48 hour rollover periods
- Setup a Mumble voice communication server
- Documented howto's and troubleshooting on the website

- Monitor and test for malicious activity
- Document community building direction
- Document server commands list for registered users
- More interesting mods
