this is a freeware application
based on university anatomy and 3d mesh science

its such a lame interface
but the meshes are really very good
and are perfectly subdivisable in silo or zbrush

its free, its gnu

http://sourceforge.net/projects/makehuma...up.exe/download

I needed a base human mesh for silo/zbrush modification
this is great, I have unlimited starting meshes now

good detail in the face, crotch, nice layout of the poly loops for animating without distortion, exports obj and has a pose library

I was just mostly looking for a generic low poly base mesh of the body
but this exports nicely and has great age settings and different breast types. The mesh is very tight and nice to remodel, if a little on the high poly side, but I haven't attempted any real tweaking yet

I've been waiting for development to get into a more stable state before trying it out. Not saying it's buggy, just that using someone else's models is something I'd probably do only to fool around...it's not attractive enough for me to bother with until it's been thoroughly tested (by other people) enough to get on the Debian mirrors. Besides that, I do 3D stuff only a few times a year, and I have enough to do just to keep up with constant changes in Blender.

The meshes really subdivide nice in zbrush and are very quick
I think I cut off the head and swap in a set with phoneme poses extracted from "faceposer"
I believe it's one base mesh and a set of procedural weighted morphs

The mesh works in both silo and zbrush, and I was surprised but the zbrush interactivity with it was superior to silo

really wierd interface
nice if you need a fast base for a few rigging or subdivision detailing exercises
I'm really surprised at some of the body modifications like age pudge that it can do with its clunky interface

I'm currently trying to figure out this system of making subtools of the clothing and extracting the base of the clothes from the body mesh. Its in a book.
