;Ripping DVD's v.1.0
;by Ozzfest
;Overview
So you want to rip DVD's huh? Well I could sit here and write a guide but how I do it, but it would be very
similar to the one that I used to get started.
This is one of the easiest DVD to DiVX guides that I've found... and one that I give to people who want to know
how to rip DVD's. Just follow the guide and all will be well.

http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/dvd2divx_anamorphic.cfmIf you want to rip a DVD on to CD that can be played like a standalone DVD player you will need to create
a VCD or SVCD. Again there are guides that can explain better than I ever could:
DVD to VCD >>

http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/dvd2svcd_guide.cfmMore guides can be found here, these include how to rip subtitles, split AVI and MPEG files and DVD-R burning.
These are well worth a read if you get a chance.

If you can, use the latest versions of all apps...just bust out a google search to track them down. Having said
that there are some issues with CDex 1.50 beta so stick with 1.40 for now.
Don't be fooled, a decent high quality DiVX will take 4+ hours, so do all the ripping and wav encoding and then
let it do the big encode overnight.
If you are confused by any terminology used, check out the glossary >>
