i have an intellimouse optical
just recently (past 2 days) ive noticed a bit of a problem with the mouse -- but, ONLY when im playing a shooter
big general or wide movements are no problem, it's the little detailed movements where the mouse seems to 'stick' -- it won't move unless i move the mouse a lot (lot being, a lot more than i should need to, not necessarily a sweep across the desk)
for instance, if im aiming at someone -- and i go to adjust my aim to a different part of their body, it wont move like it should, i have to move the mouse an inch or so
ive used a qtip to clean out the dust from the little camra thing on the bottom -- ive even tried the desktop as opposed to the mousepad -- no luck
i dont notice it when im just surfing the web or doing whatever else -- but it's starting to affect my game, it sucks
anyone help?

You sure it's your mouse and not your system running slow and choppy?

ya, system's running great -- and like i said, for the most part, the mouse is fine (for everyday activity)
it's just when im trying to make small adjustments with my aim

That was really helpful... Check to see if it's not the wire... (really) I had that problem, I tightened the wire and it worked fine. Could also be the mousing surface... try it on the desk underneath... can't think of much.... is the bottom of the lens scratched or dirty?

cleaned the lense -- tried the desk, a book, and now on a plain white piece of paper

only thing I can think of is that it doesn't refresh enough to detect those movements.... software maybe?

Software fault. Uninstall and Re-install.
