now, i dont see any reason this won't work -- but, im going to ask to be sure (don't wanna spend $30 if it wont do me any good)

i want to setup the video out from my vid card -- the tv isn't near the computer -- actually, the computer is in a seperate room (same floor tho)... so here's my plan

buy a video rf modulator with svideo capability -- run the video out from the computer to the modulator, then run a coax line from the modulator to the other room and hook it up to the tv

no reason why this shouldnt work, right?

no, i know i need that -- im 99% sure there are no svideo cables that are long enough to fish up one wall, across the attic, and down another wall -- but, since i can do that with coax, i'll just use the modulator

just wanted to double check....

had to get a modulator for my dvd over christmas, ran me 20$ for a phillips at the walmart :P

no tv or vcr in here -- we only have the one tv/vcr/dvd

did the modulator you bought from walmart have svideo capability?

Yes you can get the SV cable for that length but the cost for it would be much more than the $30.

The other is make your own SV cable like I did, but I don't think you have the extra cables laying around to put together. So the cost for open s-cable would be about the same as the RF mod and much more difficult to assemble.

So your present course of action seems to be the best.
