I was just watching tv and watched an episode of the animated series Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego (which got canceled).

anywayz i was just thinkin of how i really enjoyed playin the first video game for SEGA and how it would be great if they made it again with a face lift for something like a PS2. Oh wellz just an idea since i really like the idea/plot of the game. I'm sure some design company could do wonders with it.

What video games would you like to see revived or with a face-lift?

2d side scrolling games, like contra/castlevania/metriod series.
They did just recently make a ps2 contra, looks cool. the new metriod game for gamecube tried to be a first person shooter wtih 2d controls, yuck. you cant strafe in a fps=lose.
now castlevania SotN needs a sequal- WHatever console it comes out on, I buy. Simple as that.

Nooooooooooooo, they shouldn't be updated...

Classics should just be left alone - for example Monkey Island 2 will always be superior to any of the 'other' ones (3 or 4).

But I must agree, the classics are better left alone, that's the reason why I never play the games from "back then" because I realise how shitty they are (ie. doom and wolfenstein 3d) compared to the new games.
Memories are best left as memories....or something like that

Old RPGs are the bomb, t least we still have emulators ;-) and even the older RPGs take longer to beat than some of the new ones if you don't count movie time. But metroid Prime for the Gamecube was the bomb i really liked it. Anyways my two cents.

I remember spending WEEKS & MONTHS playing Phantasy Star 3 and 4 on the Genesis, then I picked up a copy of Sword of Vermillion, again another great game..

Once I got a SNES then it was the Final Fantasy series ( of which I agree 3 is the bomb ) at the moent I have a PS2, GameCube and Gameboy Advance. I am waiting on Final Fantasy for ther GCube but while I wait I am playing Golden Sun on the GBA ( also waiting for Golden Sun 2 )..

the final fantasy for gamecube looks more like its headed back to its roots from what ive seen.
and ff tactics for GBA should be cool.

It's supposedly more 'kiddy' actually... which would suck (like Kingdom Hearts) ... no Disney characters but I don't want something like Zelda ... because it's hard to make up stories for 9 year old characters....

Personally I want to see a remake of CT ... keep it 2D and all, just improve the graphics! The characters look pretty cool and all but mostly the techs performed are really grainy and sometimes look stupid... It'd be really cool if they made a CT2 as well. I mean, Chrono Cross was great (is great, still playing it), but it introduced new characters... I for one want a sequel because frankly Crono kicked major ass ... there's a new game coming out dubbed Chrono 'Break'... interested to see how that develops. I don't want to go on and on, but Chrono Trigger is an example of a great game when you have all the elements.... the right team, the right artist (creator of DBZ!), the right sound team...they should do that more nowadays. I'd rather have one good game than 3-4 stupid ones...

I had Kingdom Hearts and I just couldnt get into it, it was just too.. convoluted and confusing. Any game that takes upwards of an HOUR before you actually take free reign is either gonna be EXTREMELY good or EXTREMELY crap. In this case its crap. Disappointed to becuase Squaresoft are known for good games...
