Alot of games have exploits or variaty that borders on the amazing, and as such they are part of gamming, doubly so in more comptetative circles, online gamming being one prime example.
Now is knowing about one and using it flat out cheating or simply the utilization of avaliable resources? should a fast person run slower to accomadate a slow person? is this even a remotly equvalent example?

no its not... if your using a method that requires any editing to the origional game files besides things that don't change the game itself Nocd hacks etc then your cheating.

But if you find an exploit within the game itself.. take umm diablo 1's dupe cheat for example.. then I don't consider it cheating aspecially online because your doing something within the game engine limits and your not changing any of the memory addresses to suit you...

So ingame bugs is alright but the moment you start using another program to help then its cheating.

I would still consider using/abusing bugs cheating, but that's just me. But chances are that you won't be able to use them in the next update so you might as well just learn to play the game

Yea, its a shame if you need to cheat to beat someone who is more skilled at a game.

I don't think it's exactly cheating, but i think it's dishonest and unfair. When you're playing a game you're....playing...a....game. There is no honor in taking advantage of something that was never intended as part of it just so you have a better chance of winning. And as C_P said, you best learn to play without the exploit anyway, as it's not going to be there with the next patch.

Cheating is cheating.. if you cheat on the single player game all you are doing is ruining that game experience for yourself but to do it online is just cheating. I mean look at MOH, when people found out how to shoot thru walls, did that make the game better ? Nope it ruined it. The same with Starcraft, Diablo, Diablo 2 ( that game is ETERNALLY fucked by cheaters ). There isnt much that can be done to stop if or if there is the software companies dont want to do it as it is harder and means that the budget could be higher..

End of the day if someone wants to cheat let them cheat.

its fine on singleplayer-if that person chooses to cheat, thats just hwo they want to play. multiplayer cheating is completly wrong though.

i tried it, on cs, still got raped, prolly dint do sommin right, said fuck it, deleted it, screwed my cs, all laggy, computer went pop, motherboard, fixed, fine, no cheats, only skill,very lil skill, dod, fa, fcuk cs!

While i personaly have no conpunctions about honor. I have never cheated in a multyplayer game. now i have been part and party to exploit explotiation. take the map cs_assault in Cs, of allthings. you can make a terroist (hence forthe to be known as t's) pop up through a roof and normaly end up behind all the counter terrorist (hence forth to be known as ct's). i only do this if we are being compleatly trounced. is that amoral? i know cheating ruins a game and i played diablo one and two to death. i was tk'ed pk'ed and i had my stuff looted several times, but in all honesty you know that kinda stuff is going to happen if you play online, and you're there anyway.
you can always go play in lan partys if you hate it.
