ok I went today to get an play station2 but man it's not cheap
it cost $199.00 usd only one controler & no game in the box LMAO
so I held off .
So now I'm asking what one is better ps2 or xbox ?

They are both good, but Ps2 games are more available.

Depends on personal preference..

Xbox :

Okay this has a small game database, but it is growing larger day by day and does have some VERY good games to boast about ( Halo & SplinterCell ) but its big.. and I do mean B I G. Games seem to be on the more expensive side.

PS2 :

They have a huge database, both for the PS2 but also is able to play PS1 games as well. Games seem to be mid-range but when you have a large database as this console has, you can usually find games cheaper secondhand. Doesnt play all DVD's though, has a problem with some.

Both machines can play DVD's ( but the Xbox will play ALL ) however as you would expect you have to pay more $ to get the accessories to enable them to play DVD's.

End of the day its your choice DS, I however have had an Xbox and although the games were by majority very good, the price ( avg £45 ) when compared to the PS2 ( avg £29 - 34 ) won in the end. ( I am assuming the price's are more or less the same in $ )

PS2 All the way, Although Graphics on the Xbox seem alittle bit better for the sports games it has.....But anyways i think a PS2 would be a good choice, alot games, great graphics, and the controller, its just PERFECT.

Also kind of depends what kind of games you're into... PS2 and GC sport the whole fan-dom thing... Xbox has great games... just a little different from the norm unless they're ported.

get them both seriously though i can hook you up with aton of ps2 games and a ton of xbox games but i have tons more ps2 gamse. get em both

Since I don't own any of the new consoles. I would probally go with a PS2, then GC, then Xbox. But I don't think anyone has made a VGA mod for the PS2, so that changes everything. Then I'd go GC, Xbox, PS2, but GC hasn't been hacked yet to play copied games (come on asia!), so I'd probally just upgrade my computer, or build another one. Hope that helps.
