just putting a sytem together & the fucking cpu fried
I got one long post beep & thats all she wrote
God damn it heat sink on correct fans working
yet the thing fried 4 min in to the set up

Actually you might have crushed it putting on the heat sink. That's pretty easy to do and very common.

Are you sure it's fried? Using the wong CPU settings in the BIOS can produce the same results. Reset the CMOS battery (there is usually a switch or something for this on the motherboard, otherwise check your manual. You can always remove the battery (and power cord of course) and let it sit for a couple of hours if you can't find out how to do it.

I had this happen to me pretty recently on a P3 based setup.

I'v reset the Cmos , I'v pulled the cpu & double checked it .
I'v pulled everything off the mobo expect cpu & heat sink still no post beeps
no nothing is dead .

only think left to do now is take mobo out of case & test it out of the case just to double check that it's not shourting out on the case

but the system had started for a few min before it fried . hell I was installing drivers when this all took place

can i get them cards you had in them, i knwo one is an apg slot so i know you had a decent video card in there and prolly better than my tnt2!???
