Are you sure it's fried? Using the wong CPU settings in the BIOS can produce the same results. Reset the CMOS battery (there is usually a switch or something for this on the motherboard, otherwise check your manual. You can always remove the battery (and power cord of course) and let it sit for a couple of hours if you can't find out how to do it.
I had this happen to me pretty recently on a P3 based setup.
