OK, I'm trying to setup a comp to dl email from a normal POP server. (a local ISP, memort lane to be exact), and although it can now dl them fine, it won't upload them. Using Outlook Express via MHC's LAN.

Here is the error msg it gives me.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'main', Server: 'smtp.memlane.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Thanks

Most end user SMTP servers do not allow relaying. This means that you will have to be connected to the Internet using your ISP's network to send mail using their SMTP server.

What are you trying to do here? Just check your email and then send out replies / new emails? If that's the case like LVIS said... nobody runs open relays anymore (anyone who's legit or knows what they are doing anyway) Most ISP's will relay anything coming from their network but if you are outside their network (like you appear to be) it won't accept mail for anything but their domain. Otherwise they'd get slammed by spammers using their server. You ISP might allow you to relay email from outside the network if you provide a login/password though... you can look into that. If the network you are on provides you a SMTP server there's no need though since you can use that.
