what you peeps recommend

I like APC. I prefer Smart UPS, but BackUPS will do for home use. Nice Product, not too expensive either if you look in the right place.

well I just got one .
bought a ups at staples
it's a "Energizer" 1000va
79.99 after a 35 dollar mail in rebate what the hell should work fine .
I just get a lot of power interrupts from lighning storms that roll through everyday here but power only go's out for like a sec or 2 it's real quick flash

ANy one have a suggestion on which brand to use that would power a PC 15" LCD and laserjet printer for 5hrs. in $300 price range.
